The opening day of the third ECNL National Event of the season featured a number of big time games from Sanford, Florida. In normal times, the sidelines would have been full with college scouts eager to see the top players from the 2022 and 2023 class. However, this year is far from normal and the recruiting dead period has been extended which left Division I coaches at home once again for this event.
The top game of the day was a showdown between the best of Texas (Solar SC U17) and the best of Georgia (Concorde Fire Platinum). Thanks to a pair of first half goals from Tyler Isgrig, Solar secured a 3-1 victory, which ended the perfect season bid for Concorde Fire Platinum U17.
The game showcased the quality of the top teams in the league and served as the perfect opening act for the weekend in Florida. Check out the standouts from that game as well as the other games we saw on Friday from the ECNL National Event.
